Aerocom Healthcare Introduces Chain-of-Custody Pneumatic Tube System at ASHP Midyear

Seamless Medication Security and Tracking Technology Benefits Hospital Pharmacies

Denver, Colo. (Dec. 1, 2016) – Aerocom Healthcare (http://www.aerocomhealthcare.com), representing the global leader in pneumatic tube systems for North American hospitals, will present its chain-of-custody solution for tracking and securing medications at booth 676 at the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting and Exhibition in Las Vegas, Nev., Dec. 4-8, 2016.

Aerocom has a proven solution for tracking medications via its system from pharmacy to nursing units, and throughout the hospital.  The pharmacy can view transactions in real-time through a monitor located near the station.  The use of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), a standard feature of the Aerocom system, allows every carrier to be returned “home” automatically after delivery.  This assures carriers will always be available to pharmacy staff when needed, and reduces the hoarding problem so common with tube systems.

“Hospital pharmacies sometimes refer to their tube systems as a black hole, a place where meds get lost or misplaced, resulting in staff rework and inventory loss,” says Aerocom Healthcare President Harry Pliskin. “Aerocom provides a chain-of-custody solution that secures medication from sender to receiver, and produces a digital audit trail of every transaction, so that narcotics and other valuable items can be transported with confidence and safety.”

Aerocom systems also offer Pass-Thru Design, a methodology that reduces distances between stations, requiring less pipe and equipment, and trimming transport time.  Several U.S. hospitals are currently installing Aerocom systems utilizing this design advantage.

Aerocom Healthcare to Introduce Pass-Thru Pneumatic Tube System to North American Hospital Market at Healthcare Design Conference

Denver, Colo. (Nov. 8, 2016) – Aerocom Healthcare (http://www.aerocomheathcare.com), representing the global leader in hospital pneumatic tube systems in North America, will be demonstrating its Pass-Thru design capabilities in booth 1635 at the Healthcare Design Expo + Conference (HCD) next week in Houston, Texas.

Pass-Thru design allows pneumatic tube stations to receive carriers from above or below, and allows carriers to pass through a station to its destination. Conventional systems are designed with end-stations that send and receive carriers only from above. Pass-Thru design offers many advantages to hospital operators and their design and construction partners including simplified design and coordination, reduced installation costs, space savings, market-leading reliability and lower total cost of ownership.

“Pass-Thru technology is not only common outside of North America, it is a best practice,” says Harry Pliskin, president of Atreo Group, the umbrella company for Aerocom Healthcare. “We’re excited to bring this technology to the North American market, and to help project teams and owners meet their project and patient care goals.”

Booth visitors will also have an opportunity to learn about the automated waste, recycling and soiled linen collection and transport solution provided by TransVac Solutions (www.transvacsolutions.com), the market leader of these systems in hospitals.  The TransVac system helps create a cleaner, safer and more efficient hospital environment for patients and staff by eliminating manual transport and storage of soiled materials throughout hospitals.
